Laura is an alien in human form sent down from her planet to harvest human beings as meat in any way she can. Confused by the strange new world she has landed in and by her own appearance, she walks the streets of Scotland seducing and drugging her targets - which are mainly unsuspecting men - before taking them back to the rich corporation she works for to be reduced to food.
'Under The Skin' is a bizarre science fiction thriller based on Michel Faber's first full-length novel of the same time published in 2000 and shortlisted for the Whitbread Award the same year. Starring Scarlett Johansson ('Lost in Translation', 'Avengers Assemble', 'The Prestige', 'Iron Man 2'), it has been directed by Jonathan Glazer ('Sexy Beast', 'Birth'), who also co-wrote it alongside Walter Campbell in his screenwriting debut. It made its spectacular premiere on September 3rd 2013 at the 70th Venice International Film Festival during the main competition and will also make an appearance at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival. The movie touches on a variety of themes regarding prejudice, sexuality, humanity and compassion, and uncovers some much ignored truths about the extent of human actions disguised as that of aliens.
