Rocker Scott Weiland Is Adamant He Never Met The Other Members Of Supergroup Art Of Anarchy And He Has Branded The Project A "Scam From The Beginning".
The former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver singer was attached to the band earlier this year (15) after Guns N' Roses star Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal and Disturbed bassist John Moyer announced the line-up, which included Weiland.
The rocker previously stated that he is not an official member of Art of Anarchy because he is too busy fronting The Wildabouts to commit to another act, and in a new interview with About.com, Weiland insists he recorded his vocals separately and did not even know the other musicians' names.
He says, "I had them send me the files and I worked on them in the studio with my engineer. I wrote the lyrics and the melodies and sent them back. I didn't even know what their names were. It was a scam from the beginning.
"As fate will have it, they don't even have a lead singer. I'm not worried about it taking any thunder away from The Wildabouts."
Weiland released his first album with The Wildabouts last month (Mar15), while Art of Anarchy's self-titled record is set to debut in June (15).
