The former Stone Temple Pilots star was left devastated in March (15) when his longtime friend and lead guitarist Brown passed away. His death was confirmed just a day before Weiland released his new album Blaster, and the rocker cancelled a number of promotional gigs to mourn the loss.

The star has now confirmed he is preparing to get back on the road after hiring Australian musician Nick Maybury to replace Brown.

In a statement posted on Facebook.com, Weiland writes, "Jeremy had big shoes and no one can fill them. He was my best friend and my collaborator. But we have to soldier on. Nick is an incredible player and is a great fit for the Wildabouts."

Maybury has previously worked with stars including Perry Farrell, Debbie Harry and Alice Cooper.
