Watch our Seal video interview about his new album 'Soul'
We recently caught up with Seal at a swanky London hotel after attending his showcase show at the world famous Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club.
Seal success over the years can be measured by his three Grammy Awards wins as well as a staggering 15 million album sales. Seal is back with a new album called 'Soul', 'Soul' is an album of all-time classic soul songs, songs written for great singers; each and every classic is given a fresh impetus with Seal's unique vocal touch.
'Soul' was recorded by super producer David Foster in Seal's home studio and Seal has a great range of 'soul classics' on the album.
A highlight is the amazing Sam Cooke's 'A Change Is Gonna Come' which was recorded in a day and flew onto the tape.
Other outstanding moments include Ann Peebles' 'I Can't Stand The Rain' which remains a classic track as does James Brown's 'It's A Man's Man's Man's World'.
Seal takes these standards, plays them out pretty straight, and guilds them with his unique vocal style while David Foster has modernised the sound-scape without losing the original flavour.
The album's songs and original artists are listed below:
1. A Change Is Gonna Come - Sam Cooke
2. I Can't Stand The Rain - Ann Peebles
