Rap mogul Sean Combs sent fans into a frenzy on Sunday (05Jun11) when he joined Rick Ross onstage at the Summer Jam festival in New Jersey.
Ross had a special surprise in store for the audience at the annual hip-hop event, hosted by New York radio station Hot 97, bringing Combs out during the finale to close the show in style.
The pair, which is working on its own collaborative album as the Bugatti Boyz, performed a handful of tracks including Another One and the remix to DJ Khaled's All I Do Is Win, on which both Ross and Combs feature. They also took a moment to pay tribute to late rap icons Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur.
Taking to his Twitter.com blog after the show, Combs wrote, "just got off stage at summerjam (sic) --thanks for all the love!!!"
And it was all about family at the Meadowlands stadium - Ross had his Maybach Music Group (Mmg) artists Wale, Pill and Meek Mill with him, while fellow headliner Lil Wayne appeared with his Young Money group, including Drake and rap newcomer Cory Gunz.
Chris Brown made a triumphant return to the Summer Jam stage after a three-year absence, delighting fans with an energetic performance of hits such as Deuces and She Ain't You, while he turned up the heat by giving one lucky female fan a raunchy lapdance onstage as he sang Take You Down, even briefly simulating rough sex during the segment.
The Kiss Kiss hitmaker ended his set with his latest single Look At Me Now, supported by surprise guest Busta Rhymes, and Brown immediately logged onto Twitter after the gig to thank fans, writing, "Had a blast on stage New York/ New jersey! I love all y'all support!"
Other Summer Jam artists to entertain the 50,000-strong crowd included Wiz Khalifa, Waka Flocka Flame, Fabolous, Lloyd Banks and Cam'ron's Dipset crew.
