Singer Seasick Steve makes music with a unique rock 'n' roll artefact on his new album - a car wheel trim given to him by Jack White.

The veteran bluesman is known for employing odd implements to provide background percussion on his records, and his latest release, Hubcap Music, contains a contribution from the former White Stripes rocker.

Steve tells Mojo magazine, "I've always liked old hubcaps. Jack gave me this one off an old Hudson Terraplane, which is a car from the 1930s you could buy for 40 bucks. He's got all kinds of s**t on his walls... I was just going to hang it up and then I got asked to play somewhere so I needed that hubcap!... It sounds kinda (sic) tinny but I like it."
