It is good to have friends in high places!

Seth Meyers, who is taking over from Jimmy Fallon as host of the 'Late Night', has brought his friend and SNL alum Fred Armisen along for the ride.

When Fallon left to host 'The Tonight Show', so did the musical feature, and filling that gap will be Armisen as his new role is the leader of the 8G Band.

Meyers made the announcement today (Feb 10th) via his twitter account, noting that Armisen will still be shooting his sketch-comedy show 'Portlandia.'

"Fred will curate and lead the band, and continue to run it even when he's off shooting Portlandia. #8GBand," he wrote.

The twitter handle for 'Late Night With Seth Meyers' also shared the news by posting, "*drum roll please* Beyond excited to announce Fred Armisen will be joining #LNSM as @SethMeyers' band leader!"

The new talk-show host also posted a photo of Fred, who will play guitar and sing, along with the rest of the band members. Seth Jabour (guitar), Kimberly Thompson (drums), Eli Janney (keyboards), and Syd Butler (bass).

The dominance of former SNL stars on late night talk-shows begins on February 17th as Jimmy Fallon will be debuting a new era for 'The Tonight Show', which will move to a New York studio for the first time since 1972.

The 39 year-old comedian is the replacement of longtime host Jay Leno, whose hosting stint lasted for over two decades.

Meyers' first official episode of the 'Late Show' will commence on February 24th, and his first guest will be another former SNL star Amy Poehler.
