The Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) hitmaker and her soccer star partner, Gerard Pique, first expressed an interest in purchasing the property on Avenida de Pearson in 2014, but they were not happy with the $11.9 million (£7.4 million) price tag and passed on the pad.

However, the house reportedly failed to sell and in May (15), Shakira and Pique made another attempt to buy the mansion for around $5.4 million (£3.4 million) - and that offer was accepted, according to Sport-English.com.

The couple has been working on renovations on the property ever since.

Pique won't be the only Barcelona F.C. star in the neighbourhood when he and his family eventually move in - his Brazilian teammate, Neymar, also lives in the area.
