The actor spent 24 hours in an Oxford lift, as part of his latest performance art stunt.
Actor Shia LaBeouf has caused controversy again during his latest art stunt, which saw him occupying an Oxford elevator with collaborators Nastja Rönkkö and Luke Turner for 24 hours. According to The Daily Mail, LaBeouf punched a man in the face during the stunt, which was streamed live on Youtube.
Shia LaBeouf has been occupying a life in Oxford for 24 hours.
The Daily Mail reports that the man, who had queued for seven hours to get in the lift with Shia, asked the actor to punch him in the face, to help complete his latest art piece. 'I’m a performance artist. Can you help me with completion of my next piece by punching me in the face?’ the man told Shia.

Taken aback by the strange request the actor replied, ‘Oh man, you want to punch me in the face?' Adding: 'I don’t want to punch you very hard!' But the man persisted and then reportedly told the actor not to be a ‘p***y’.
'I don’t like doing it though.... I just met you,’ Shia replied. The doors on the lift then closed, so viewers could not see what happened next, but the hit was clearly audible and afterwards the student could be heard laughing.
Shia occupied the lift at the EC in Oxford for 24 hours, beginning at 9am on Friday (February 19th). The stunt was streamed live on Youtube and inside the Oxford Union, ahead of his address on Friday evening.

Describing the stunt, which was titled #Elevate, the Union said: 'Visitors will be able to join LaBeouf, Rönkkö & Turner inside the elevator during this time, and are invited to address the artists, the debating chamber, and the internet, so that their collective voices may form an extended, expansive and egalitarian Oxford Union address.'
