Shia LaBeouf suggests he was fired from Orphans
Shia LaBeouf’s exit from broadway was pretty emphatic; it had artistic differences, definitions of what being a man is and released e-mails. It was, as exits go, pretty entertaining. And the fun doesn’t stop with LeBeouf and Alex Baldwin’s war of words.
Perhaps the reason it’s so entertaining is because it’s not quite a war of words. One minute they’re praising each other, the next they’re slagging each other off. The latest blow comes form Shia, speaking to David Letterman. “I'm pretty passionate and impulsive, and he's a very passionate individual as well. And I think that impulsiveness and that passion makes for, ya know, some fireworks. 'Me and Alec had tension as men. Not as artists but as men,” explained LeBeouf, before Letterman suggested: 'Alec went to the producers and said, "I can't take it another day. Fire him."' Shia replied: “I think that might've been what happened.” But did Balwin really get his co-star the sack? We’ll probably never know.
Baldwin hasn’t exactly been silent on the matter. Talking about one of Shia's tweets which read “The theatre belongs not to the great but to the brash”, Alec said: “I can tell you that, in all honesty, I don't think he's in a good position to be giving interpretations of what the theatre is and what the theatre isn't. I mean, he was never in the theatre. He came into a rehearsal room for six or seven days.”
