Shia LaBeouf walked out of a press conference at the Berlin Film Festival after quoting Eric Cantona's famous line, "When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea."

LaBeouf - in Berlin to promote Lars Von Trier's new movie Nymphomaniac, of which he is the star- later appeared on the red carpet wearing a paper bag on his head. Written on it was the words, "I am not famous any more," according to BBC News.

LaBeouf was asked about the movie's controversial sex scenes when he dropped the Cantona line, which first dumfounded sports journalists in 1995.

The quote was erroneously attributed to French philosophy and the former head of security at Manchester United later revealed in his book that Cantona and his agent had invented the quote in a London hotel room.

LaBeouf's co-stars Christian Slater and Uma Thurman laughed about the comments, joking about sardines. Von Trier himself missed the press conference, but turned up at the photo-call wearing a t-shirt bearing the words, "Persona non grata" - a reference to his ban from the Cannes Film Festival after his Nazi remarks.

Nymphomaniac

Nymphomaniac tells the story of a sex-addicted girl and her long-line of lovers. It currently holds a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

"A ferociously entertaining experience in which one finds von Trier at the peak of his craft, linking together ideas about female sexuality, fly-fishing and artistic creation with equal amounts of playfulness and intellectual rigor," said Scott Foundas of Variety.

"You could watch these films for four hours, then spend 14 arguing about them - about whether sex, for vor Trier, is an eternal human mystery, or a cosmic joke at our expense," said Tim Robey of the Daily Telegraph.

"Lars von Trier's two-part psychosexual epic makes for invigorating, profound and occasionally baffling viewing," wrote White Little Lies.

Nymphomaniac

"Nymphomaniac isn't just a chance for von Trier to hit all of the politically incorrect G-spots, it's a real film with a fully-realized female protagonist who has lived a life most people will never understand," said the Examiner.

Nymphomaniac hits cinemas in the UK on February 22, 2014. It gets a limited US release on March 21, 2014.
