Shia LaBeouf was never better than in Even Stevens, since then he's forged himself a pretty good career in blockbuster movies, notably, Transformers. However, somewhere his personality took something of a left turn and along with notching up performances in some high-grossing films, he's also managed to make a series of bizarre and controversial decisions. Here's the Contactmusic.com Top 5 countdown to controversial Shia LaBeouf moments:

5. Drink Driving:
Not only was LaBeouf arrested for drink driving when his car collided with another vehicle and flipped three times, he was 'philandering around' at the time, with actress Isabel Lucas - who had a boyfriend! Speaking to Details Magazine he described the incident as "sort of disastrous," adding, "Neither one of us, I think, were in love. Just sort of experimenting or whatever." In the same interview he admitted to fooling around with stunner Megan Fox while she was still in a relationship with her now husband and father of her child, Brian Austen Green! Tut.

4. Bar Brawls:
Barely a month goes by without Shia ending up in some scuffle or another. Before Christmas he landed himself in a punch up in London, in 2011 photos were taken of him being lamped in Vancouver, before being taken away by police hand-cuffed, and again in California, he was hand-cuffed but eventually let go having been punched in the face (TMZ). Yikes! Does trouble find him or does he find trouble?

3. Court No-Show:
Not only does the young actor manage to get himself in situations where the police are called, when it comes to co-operating with the law he's even had trouble turning up to court! Having been arrested for smoking illegally, he was supposed to be in court to defend himself. However neither he nor his lawyer showed up! As People reported at the time in 2008, the attorney turned up a day late and plead guilty but by that time a $1000 warrant had been released for his arrest.

2. Real Sex!
LaBeouf's real life escapades were brought to set for controversial movie Nymphomaniac, where he said he committed to having real life sex on camera! Lars Von Trier had been said to plan two releases of the film, one to include the real sex. As the actor told ExtraTV "I'm willing to do whatever is asked of me to get closer to the truth that's on the page." That's right Shia, true dedication to the role.

1. Real Drugs!
His commitment to the role isn't limited to real sex, but also real drugs. According to the Sun, LaBeouf insisted on taking LSD for a role in his latest movie The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman which the director, Fredrik Bon wasn't happy with. "Sometimes, it does get real. Too real for a director who's trying to keep a diplomatic set."

Shia said it, sometimes it does get real and sadly he's managed to neglect the fact that real drugs are not cool. Nor is getting into loads of fights. Or drink driving. Or skipping court. Will he ever learn? We're not so sure.
