Shields - Mezzanine

Alt pop five piece Shields unveil the hilariously creative video for their latest single 'Mezzanine' which is taken from their debut EP 'Kaleidoscope' due out as a free download on November 19th 2012.

The video shows a sock puppet world where one sock goes to therapy following a tempestuous relationship with an unfaithful sockette where he loses his temper during a row about her sock drawer misdeeds and she ends up being mauled by a cat. We also see the band rock out; all as sock puppets with miniature instruments of course - a low budget but truly imaginative creative piece directed by Vicky Simmonds. The track itself is of a more serious nature lyrics-wise, but the video, upbeat vocals and synth driven melody suggest that Shields to do not intend to be taken seriously. They are clearly a band for fun which is also proven by their willingness to give away this track and four others for nothing.

The Newcastle quintet; who are Luke (guitar/ bass/ vox), Rich (guitar/ vox), Tom (drums), John (percussion/ bass) and Dave (guitar/ keyboards/ vox); have performed alongside Neon Indian, The Naked and Famous, Zulu Winter and Wintersleep and are set to hit the road with To Kill A King for five UK dates.
