Fact: Actress Shirley Maclaine is reportedly in negotiations to join the cast of real-life basketball drama Men Of Granite. If the Terms of Endearment star signs on to the movie, she will play school teacher Sophia Prather in the film adaptation of sports writer Dan Manoyan's novel. His book centred on the true story of the 1940 Granite City High School men's basketball team, which was comprised mostly of immigrants and went on to win the Illinois State Championship. William Hurt has been cast to play the team's coach.
