Almost 60 outfits from the height of her career in the mid-1930s are to go on sale, including immaculately-preserved costumes Temple wore in hit movies Curly Top, Now and Forever, Dimples, Poor Little Rich Girl, and The Little Colonel.

The haul also features the famous white clogs she sported in the iconic dance scene from 1937 movie Heidi, and the entire collection is to be auctioned as one lot, with bids starting at $500,000.

The sale, via Nate D. Sanders Auctions, also features the pink silk dress Temple wore to the 1935 Academy Awards, which has a minimum opening bid of $60,000 (£37,500), and a collection of the actress' personal movie scripts, also expected to fetch at least $60,000.

Temple died from natural causes last year (14) at the age of 85.
