Wearing a black and white fringed wig which covered most of her face, and an oversized bow headband, Sia initially joked that she couldn't see Corden or the car when he arrived to collect her. The pair began by belting out ‘Chandelier’ from her breakthrough album 1000 Forms of Fear.

Discussing her decision to mostly keep her face covered, Sia said: “I don’t wear this unless there’s cameras around. I only wear this just to try to maintain a modicum of privacy."

"I was a singer already for 10 or 11 years to mediocre success. I was an alcoholic and a drug addict and I sobered up and decided that I didn’t want to be an artist any more, because I was starting to get a little bit famous and it was destabilising in some ways. So I thought, ‘What doesn’t exist in pop music at the moment?’ And it was mystery.”

Sia also spoke about her belief in aliens, after watching a a video of a former Canadian defence minister who said that “the American government are working with five different alien races”. “My blood ran cold,” she continued. “That guy is the ex-Canadian minister of defence! He’s not just some guy on YouTube!”
