Move over, Mariah Carey! Christmas has a new musical mascot in the form of Sia Furler, who is set to drop her very first festive album this week entitled 'Everyday Is Christmas'. The first promotional single is the infectious ballad, 'Snowman'.
Co-written and co-produced by her usual collaborator Greg Kurstin, the album also features the lead single 'Santa's Coming for Us' which dropped in October. Plus, the album art features her favourite teen dancer Maddie Ziegler. But what inspired Sia to take on a project exclusive to one time of the year?
As it turns out, she thought that there wasn't enough new Christmas music coming out, which is most certainly true; we seem to listen to the same classics with each year, with the most modern staple being Mariah's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' from 1994. But Sia certainly caught Christmas fever because a few little Holiday jams turned into a full album in just two weeks.
Sia has a handful of live shows coming up; she'll be supported by Charli XCX, Mø and Amy Shark at AAMI Park in Melbourne on November 30th 2017, and at Allianz Stadium in Sydney on December 2nd. On December 5th, Mø and Charli XCX will be joined by Theia at Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland.
'Everyday Is Christmas' is set to be released on November 17th 2017 through Monkey Puzzle and Atlantic Records.
