Honey G didn't manage to make it to the finals of this year’s ’X Factor’, but no contestant was given as much press as the wannabe rapper from Harrow.

Now the 35-year-old has confirmed she’s signed to Simon Cowell’s record label Syco, and even hinted that her debut album is on the way.

In a video posted to Twitter Honey, whose real name is Anna Gilford, said: “Yo yo yo, this is your girl here Honey G.

“I hope you all enjoyed my performance last night at The X Factor final. Yes, it is true – I am now signed to Simon Cowell’s label Syco.”

“I’m going to be releasing my first single on December 23, and I’m shooting the video this week. I’m so excited, I’m so happy – I can’t explain how happy I am.

“I want all my fans to let them know that I love them, and I hope that everyone goes out, buys the single, supports it, we tear it up and we kill it, smash it. Bring on the album!”.

Despite being eliminated in Week 8 of the competition, Honey was invited to perform on the show’s Saturday night finale, where she plugged her first single, much to the annoyance of viewers.

After her performance she told host Dermot O’Leary: “It felt wicked. I just want to plug my single that’s coming out on the 23rd December called the Honey G show.”

“Everyone who’s locked in we’re going to rip it up, tear it up. This is the official Honey G take over,” she added, prompting boos from the live audience.

However, unlike winner Matt Terry’s single 'When Christmas Comes Around', the rapper’s first offering will not be eligible to take this year’s Christmas number one spot, due to it’s December 23rd release date.
