Sinead O'connor has been located after apparently going missing over the weekend. She was found safe at a hotel, but has been taken to hospital for her own safety given that her status was put as 'missing suicidal', and she has previously struggled with mental health issues in the past.

The Wilmette Department of Police in Chicago has confirmed the whereabouts of the 'Nothing Compares 2 U' singer after she failed to return from a bike ride on Sunday (May 15th 2016). She was found at a hotel in Wilmette yesterday (May 16th 2016).

This is not the first time the Irish singer gone missing and raised concerns for her mental wellbeing. Last year she left a suicide note on Facebook claiming that she had taken an overdose and blasted members of her family over the custody of her children. She was found soon afterwards in Dublin. She was also visited by police in 2011 after posting a series of suicidal messages on Twitter.

It's not known exactly why O'Connor decided to make herself scarce for a while this time, but she has recently been embroiled in a dispute with her 28-year-old son Jake Reynolds over custody of her 12-year-old son Shane. 'Do not abandon your brother or any other of my babies again', she said on Facebook. 'What you have done to your brother and your mother is LITERALLY criminal.'

She is also currently in a legal battle with comedian and talk show host Arsenio Hall, who is suing her for millions in libel damages when she suggested he was Prince's drug dealer. 'I'm more amused than I've ever dreamed a person could be and look forward very much to how hilarious it will be watching him trying to prove me wrong', she told People in a email that didn't exactly sound like she was letting the situation affect her.
