Just how amicable was that split between Ellie Goulding and Skrillex?

Well, amicable enough, it would seem, that he’s still happy to release the collaborative track that they created, but not so amicable that he asked her to appear in the video for the track.

Instead, ‘Summit’ features footage of various young, lithe looking folk, most of whom look as though they just stepped straight out of an American Apparel advert. Crazy young kids, setting each other’s hair on fire, setting other things on fire, rolling around in a sorry excuse for a ball pool coasting around on their BMX bikes and, of course, spraying squirty cream moustaches on their faces. Because who DOESN’T want to do that whilst a Skrillex track whomp-whomps about in the background. The six minute track features vocals from Ellie throughout and they are largely distorted, though there are points when that voice is quite distinctly that of Elle Goulding.

‘Summit’ appears as part of the US dubstep-pilferer’s ‘The Leaving’ EP and the lop-haired producer told MTV that he’s going to take a break from touring, in order to get some new tracks recorded. “I have so much music. I have too many songs to even know what to do with,” the Grammy winner told them. “I just always make music anyway... But I want to make a record. I just haven't had enough time to really sit down and idle myself and clear my mind and go, 'OK, what's the next thing I want to say? How's it different from what I said before?' and think of all these things. I have so much inside me, so many ideas, I'm more excited than ever to make music again, 'cause I haven't done that for, like, two years.” Expect more from Skrillex on the horizon, then.
