At a question and answer event in Cincinnati, Ohio, Corgan talked about his appreciation for the way Trump has shaken up the election campaign.

In the fan-shot video, the rocker says, "What I think is cool is Trump's running chaos theory. He's forcing a lot of things out in the open, so they can't control this... It's like the music business, everybody gets controlled, and somebody comes along who f**ks it all up. I think it's good that he's f**king it up, because whether or not he's the guy, obviously the political class doesn't want him there. It'll open it up to a bigger dialogue.

"It's just like rock n roll. It gets boring, and it needs to be... Whether you agree or not, the viewers for that debate were 24 million. It was eight times higher than the first Republican debate of the last cycle. That means people are engaged.

Corgan's Q&A interview came after the Fox News Republican party presidential debate on 6 August (15).
