Is this the end of the road for Snoop Lion’s reggae career? The rapper turned reggae enthusiast, formerly known as Snoop Dogg, or Snoop Doggy Dogg, or Calvin, if you happen to be his mother, recorded his latest album, Reincarnated, in Jamaica and it’s set for release on April 23, 2013. However he’s told NME that this might be the last reggae album that he makes.

Being somewhat vague on the matter, he told the UK magazine “I definitely feel like I’m gonna make more music but I don’t know if I’m gonna go to Jamaica, I may wanna go somewhere else. I may wanna venture into another part of the world. Some things you let them be what they are. That was a priceless moment. I may wanna do something different next time… I’m just saying I don’t know if I want to repeat the same process as far as going to Jamaica and making a reggae album. I may wanna go to another country and make a reggae album. I may wanna make a rap album. I don’t know.”

Snoop Lion made his name change fairly recently, after he reportedly became more interested in Rastafarianism. However, he has said that he’s not left Snoop Dogg behind altogether and still uses the name when he’s producing music for others. Reincarnated features guest appearances from Rihanna, Chris Brown and Rita Ora.
