Rapper returns to Scottish festival after 8 year absence
Snoop Lion is returning to T in the Park, it has been announced today (march 8, 2013). According to the Scottish Daily Record, the rapper will make his first appearance at the Scottish festival since 2005. Of course, the last time the US star appeared at T in the Park, he wasn’t known as Snoop Lion, but his far better known moniker Snoop Dogg. He reportedly decided to change his name after acquainting himself with Rastafarianism.
The festival takes places in Balado, Kinross, in July and the festival’s director, Geoff Ellis said “Snoop Dogg is a true legend and one of the most influential rap stars of all time. His first and only T in the Park performance so far back in 2005 was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our 20-year history. Snoop is a phenomenal live act and I can’t wait to see what he’s got in store for us this year.” Snoop will join a bill that includes headliners Mumford & Sons, Rihanna and Killers, as well as newcomers Haim, Palma Violets and Daughter. George Kyle, of Tennants Lager, one of the festival’s main sponsors, said “T in the Park continues to attract some of the greatest artists in the world and Snoop Dogg is no exception.

Snoop Dogg recently reconciled his Suge Knight, Death Row Records’ head honcho. Snoop and Suge had previously fallen out over Snoops’ suspicions that Knight was involved in the murder of Tupac Shakur in 1996. “I think time heals all wounds,” Snoop is quoted as saying.
