This weekend at the box office – things went exactly as predicted, in that Avengers maintained its top spot, making bank with another $77.2 million, making it the film with the second highest sophomore weekend gross of all time. It surpassed the second weekend of Fox’s Avatar ($75.6 million) but fell behind predecessor Marvel’s The Avengers ($103.1 million).

Despite receiving favourable reviews, Hot Pursuit didn't do too well at the box office.

Directed by Joss Whedon, Age of Ultron follows superheroes Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) as they battle  the new villain of the franchise, technological ultra baddie Ultron (James Spader). Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson also star in the film as twins Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, aka (this isn’t a spoiler, they were in the trailer) Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.

The Colombian beauty shared her spectacular day with her fans via photo sharing network Instagram, posting pictures of her wearing a feathered 'Colombia' headpiece and spending quality time with her family members with much dancing involved as well as an impressive Walk of Fame themed cake.

Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara star in 'Hot Pursuit'

Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara led the charge as their new action comedy 'Hot Pursuit' premiered in Los Angeles this week. It's about an uptight policewoman trying to protect the colourful widow of a drug kingpin as they are chased by corrupt cops and mob killers. It opens this weekend in America and in July in the UK.

Sofia Vergara and her ex-fiancé Nick Loeb appeared on separate talk shows Thursday morning, to each give their side of the story in the very public legal batter over their frozen embryos. Vergara appeared on Good Morning America to discuss the issue as well as her new movie Hot Pursuit, while over on NBC, the actress' ex, Nick Loeb was interviewed by Hoda Kotb on the 'Today' programme.

Vergara told GMA she didn't think it was fair that she had to discuss the legal battle with Loeb at a time when she should be focusing on her latest work, Hot Pursuit which co-stars Reese Witherspoon.

Reese Witherspoon's daughter looks just like her mum! Witherspoon posted a photograph with her 15-year-old daughter Ava on Instagram on Thursday (30th April) and their similarity is certainly striking. Witherspoon and Eva were getting ready for the Los Angeles premiere of Witherspoon's latest film, Hot Pursuit, when the photo was taken. Ava is Witherspoon's daughter with her ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe. Although Ava looked remarkably like her mother, she certainly has a look of Phillippe about her - especially around the nose!

Reese Witherspoon has criticised actors who refuse to portray homosexual characters on screen. The 39 year old star believes that actors who won’t take on gay roles need to “lighten up” and accept that part of their job is to “transform”.

In a joint interview with Sofia Vergara, her co-star on the upcoming movie Hot Pursuit, Witherspoon told Pridesource.com: “I think gay people are able to play straight roles; straight people are able to play gay roles. The whole point of being an actor is to transform. If people don't understand that we need to be malleable in our sexuality, then I think they need to lighten up.”

Sofia Vergara has responded to claims made by her ex-fiancé Nick Loeb that she wanted the couple’s frozen embryos destroyed. The 'Modern Family' star’s response comes just days after it was reported Loeb had filled a lawsuit claiming she was trying to destroy the embryos.

Sofia Vergara is currently engaged to Joe Manganiello.

In a statement made to E! News Vergara’s attorney Fred Silberberg said, "Vergara has never wanted to destroy her embryos. Vergara has never suggested that she wished to have the embryos destroyed. She has always maintained that they be kept frozen, a fact of which Loeb and his counsel have always been aware, despite Loeb's statements to the contrary.”

Sofia Vergara is on the cover of Vanity Fair's May edition and, in the interview, she revealed how she met her fiancé, Joe Manganiello. No surprises for guessing this one! Columbian actress Sofia Vergara has been the top earning actress on television for the third year in a row. The star who plays Gloria Delgado-Pritchett on 'Modern Family' topped the Forbes list with $37 million from June 2013 to June 2014, with much of the revenue coming from endorsements and licensing contracts.

Vergara has appeared on the ABC sitcom since 2010, and has been nominated for five Golden Globes and four Primetime Emmys, but is yet to receieve an award. As well as her television role, she has also appeared in films including Machete Kills and New Year's Eve. In addition to acting, she is also a co-founder of Hispanic talent and entertainment agency Latin World Entertainment.
