Sofia Vergara and her fiancé Nick Loeb have announced the news that they are going to be parents, with the couple relying on a surrogate to carry their child, the New York Post has revealed. The Modern Family star and her fiancé are said to be in the very early stages of the whole procedure, but are extremely happy with the progress of the process thus far.

A source close to Vergara and Loeb spoke with the NY Post to detail the procedure, telling the paper: 'The child will be biologically Sofia and Nick’s baby, and she has selected a surrogate — who is a very close girlfriend — to carry the baby.' Also speaking to the paper, another source close to the pair added, 'A baby is something they’ve both wanted for a while, particularly Nick, who has been pushing for it. He is a little uneasy that the surrogate is Sofia’s close friend, but is very excited about becoming a father.'

The 40-year-old Latin American beauty currently has one grown-up son, Manolo, 21, from a previous marriage, and the surrogate child will be her first with soon-to-be husband of three years Loeb. The pair were engaged last summer in front of family and friends whilst one holiday in Mexico. We'd like to wish the pair all the best with in the future as their family progresses.
