Sofia Vergara has received her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The 42-year-old actress was presented with the prestigious honour on Thursday (07.05.15) and looked stunning in a strapless gold dress designed by Romona Keveza as she accepted the honour for career achievements.

Sofia was accompanied to the event by her fiancé Joe Manganiello and several of her 'Modern Family' co-stars, including Julie Bowen and Ed O'Neil were in attendance.

Sofia told the assembled crowd: ''It is unbelievable for me to be here today standing with all of you. I don't have anything to say but thank you. The first thanks I have to give is to 'Modern Family' ... if they had not invented Gloria Pritchett, I wouldn't be here. I owe everything that I have been able to do in the American market to this amazing character.''

Her son Manolo, 24, was also present and praised his mother for her hard work and for being a great parent to him.

The Columbian's star is the 2,551st plaque on Hollywood Boulevard and is situated adjacent to O'Neill's, who plays her husband on the sitcom.

The actress had a ball and celebrated the achievement as she danced wearing a Colombian-themed hat, flanked by her homeland's flag.

Sofia also posted on her website: ''It is such an honour to be given this recognition.''
