With ‘Beatwave Argentina’ freshly sprung from Sonic360s loin, the next in the supreme ‘Beatwave’ series is scheduled for delivery this February. ‘Beatwave Japan’ is a chilled dish of fresh electro-pop from the hippest Tokyo and Osaka underground scene. This delectable sonic sushi explores technology and extensive, intricate programming inspires each track, with slick millennium production techniques combined with healthy lashings of pop.

ARTIST BIO’S FOR SONIC360’s ‘BEATWAVE JAPAN’ COMPILATION

Tracks 1 / 6.) ELEKTEL are a funked-out Sci-fi combo from Tokyo, Japan, that were officially formed on the first day of the new Millennium. Inspired by technology & science, they take influence from the likes of Playstation, Anime, Pokemon and of course the Internet. The spacey trio consist of Ken Uehara, Polymoog & Mamiko Hirano. Ken's DJ set merges lounge, house, breaks, and bossa nova, while Polymoog controls the sequencer, sampler and a vintage synth.

Tracks 2 / 5.) PYOKN have grown out of the fabulous Electro Pop scene currently creating a storm in the hypercool, trendsetting district of Shibuya in Tokyo . They create their ingenious and innovative sound by blending J-Pop with eclectic beats in a funky, quirky & incredibly innovative mix, overlaid with lush vocals from lead singer Miki. The people behind the music are: Miki (Vocals), Hideo (Programming), and Shinya (Programming, Vocals).

Tracks 4 / 8.) TREMORELA is the solo project of programmer / engineer Tomonao Tanaka, who's notably also a part of Gouache Records and Orange Records in Osaka . Tomonao has pioneered a new pop unit called Novafase which is planning to release an album in the near future.

Track 6.) 7 O’CLOCK SHADOW represent Tokyo Producers Yuriko Ayusawa, Keisuke Katsumata, and Hiroaki Ishizuka, signed to P-Vine Records in Japan. Their Pal@Pop remix of ‘Microdiver’ spirals out spacey female vocals, riding high over trippy breaks with a drum n bass lilt. Uplifting till the very end. 7 O'Clock Shadow recently released their album 'Onomatopoeia' on Japanese label Weather / P-Vine Records.

Track 7.) KOUSUKE OGAWA has been performing live at highly rated underground techno and ambient parties in Japan for some time & is now focusing mainly on producing & recording. His unique sound is influenced by a variety of electronic music such as Techno Pop and Acid House.

Track 9.) Tokyo Club Pop band Y-SONIQ was formed by the two uber talents Yasuhiro Yamada (songwriter, drummer and programmer) and female vocalist Charu. With Charu’s stylish J-pop voice, and Yamada’s innovation, Y-SoniQ’s sound delves into various dance styles with innuendos of “Cibo Matto" chic. Yep, they've got that pop style thang by the bucketload.

Track 10.) SPORTSCUT (a.k.a. Orangers) are from Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. Their track 'Junkphilichy On' is also licensed to astounding Sonic360 compilation 'Beautiful Sunset Airport - Terminal 2'. The masterminds behind 'Junkphilichy On' are Tetsuto Yoshida and Keisuke Moritera (guitar & bass) & T.T. & K.M. (Arrangment). The track was recorded at Mercy Killing Studio, Tokyo.
