The 1983 track has become a good luck tune for the home nation at the 2012 Olympics as Britain continues its own gold haul - collecting a treasure trove of medals, and the song has been adopted as the theme for the Bbc’s Olympics Tonight show.
Songwriter Gary Kemp has now revealed he is waiting for the call to join The Who and the Spice Girls at the finale spectacular this weekend (11-12Aug12).
He tells the Daily Mail newspaper, "We would love to take part. If they asked we would jump at it. I am so proud of the team."
