Spoon Sister Jack Single

Perhaps with the most boring band name ever, Spoon have been releasing records for over a decade since their emergence from Austin, Texas. This single is taken from their sixth album, entitled "Gimme Fiction".

Whilst hardly being revolutionary, "Sister Jack" is a slice of poppy rock tinged with a retro sound and sprightly melody. Throw in a touch of the psychedelic, and it all comes together very nicely. The b-sides aren't bad either, "Monkey Feelings" and "It Took A Rumor To Make Me Wonder Now I'm Afraid I'm Going Under" both charming affairs with roots in eighties' pop. On this evidence it's easy to see why Spoon have been around so long.
