Jeremy McConnell has rounded on his ex-girlfriend Stephanie Davis, calling her claims that she’s carrying his baby “ridiculous” and promising that she’ll “look like a mug” when the DNA test results come back.

Having split up for good, the couple have been firing wild accusations of drug-taking and cheating at each other over social media in a singularly unedifying experience for everybody else in the world. While at first he had pledged his support for her as a prospective parent to their child, McConnell has now denied that the child is his – if it exists at all.

In a new interview with TV Now magazine in his native Ireland, McConnell insisted: “I’m not going to be a dad. If she is pregnant, it’s not mine.”

“If I was a dad, I’d be 100 percent - no, 110 percent - the best dad in the world. But you’ll see in the future that it’s not my kid, and she’ll look like a mug.”

McConnell had previously accused the former ‘Hollyoaks’ actress, whom he started dating after they appeared on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ at the start of 2016, of cheating on him with her ex-boyfriend Sam Reece while they were still together.

Surprisingly, despite the bitter recriminations and online spats that have caused her to take a break from the social networking site, the Irish model admitted that he does still have feelings for Davis.

“I still love Steph and I’d never bad mouth her, but I just think the whole thing is a media approach and it’s ridiculous,” he revealed.

The saga rumbles on, as a source told The Mirror recently that Davis is bearing up well under the pressure amid rumours that her mental state is disintegrating, accusing McConnell of “constant partying” since she revealed her pregnancy. “Steph is in no way having a breakdown - in fact she is stronger than ever and coming up for air from a horrible few months,” an insider said.
