Stephanie Davis has revealed she went to hospital earlier this week, out of fear that she was about to go into early labour.

The 23 year old actress, who is four months pregnant, said the experience of getting rushed to hospital with such intense pain so early into the process was “really scary”, she told the panel on ‘Loose Women’ on Friday (August 26th).

“I was lying in bed on Sunday with just really really bad pains, to point of throwing up and I ended up going to hospital,” she revealed. “My mum was going to call me an ambulance, but I just wanted to go to Womens (unit).”

The former ‘Hollyoaks’ actor and reality TV star continued: “And they actually thought I was in early labour, causing I was having what they thought were contractions.”

After a turbulent on/off relationship with her fellow ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ star, Irish model Jeremy McConnell, Davis announced she was expecting her first child, a baby boy, in the new year.

“I was on the gas and air, I didn’t know what was going on,” she continued, “and actually everything is okay. I’m all fine, it was just my body reacting. But touch wood, everything is fine.”

On a more positive note, Davis revealed that falling pregnant and starting a family has changed her life for the better, as she didn’t realise how negatively people perceived her.

“I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the baby,” she reflected. “I was so down I didn’t see a way out – everything I thought I was – I was portrayed in a different light. When I found out I was pregnant I thought ‘That’s it– I’m over.’ I was so lost. I realise I’ve put my mother through absolute torture.”
