Steve Carell has revealed he could leave 'The Office' after the next series.
Steve Carell is set to leave 'The Office'.
The actor - who plays Michael Scott, the overbearing boss of a paper mill, in the US version of the comedy show originally written by Ricky Gervais - has revealed he plans to leave the series after its next run.
When quizzed on whether he will return to the role after his contract expires at the end of the current season, he said: "I don't think so. I think that will probably be my last year."
'The Office' has run for six seasons in the US and has been a huge success and Carell has won critical acclaim for creating a new character in Michael Scott, rather than merely reinterpreting Ricky's character David Brent from the British version.
Steve can currently be seen in new movie 'Date Night' alongside Tina Fey. In the comedy movie they play a married couple who see their attempts to spice up their life go dangerously wrong.
