In an interview with Australia's '60 Minutes' Aerosmith frontman Steve Tyler has admitted to spending an easy $6m on drugs during the band's heyday, reports News.au.

Tyler struggled with a drug addiction for many years but has now been clean for twenty. He had a slight relapse with addiction, having become reliant on prescription medication during the late noughties. He has also overcome that addiction and continued a successful career, most recently appearing as a judge on American Idol.

Back in 2011 there were reports that he'd claimed he spent $20m on damaging substances, ultimately driving away people close to him and into brief financial ruin. "I blew 20 million," he told People magazine. "I snorted my Porsche, I snorted my plane, I snorted my house in that din of drugs and booze and being lost. I kept my medicine cabinet on stage, in a fourteen-inch drum head, the bottom of which contained... one Dixie cup with a straw and blow in it and the other with Coca-Cola and Jack Daniels in it... Left to my own devices I probably would have been dead several times over" (Telegraph). He also found out he had contracted Hepatitis C a few years ago which he blames on his intravenous drug use, according to TMZ.
