The British band, which got back together for a tour in 2012 after splitting up in 1996, announced earlier this week (beg02Nov15) a series of huge gigs in the U.K. for 2016, including two at the 60,000-capacity Etihad Stadium in their hometown of Manchester, England.

The brace of stadium shows in June (15) sold out almost instantly after going on sale on Friday, and the band subsequently announced a further two concerts at the same venue due to the overwhelming demand.

A statement from the band reads, "The Stone Roses have added an additional two nights at the Etihad Stadium; they will now play four nights in Manchester next June. Tickets for the first two nights went on sale this morning and almost instantly sold out. Since adding the extra shows, the third night has already sold out at the 60,000 capacity venue. A fourth show is now on sale."
