The 2016 Sundance Film Festival is really hotting up now with yet more films added to the 120 strong line-up which already includes the previously announced nine horrors from the Midnight Category. Introducing: the films for the US and World Cinema Documentary and Dramatic Competitions, as well as the 2016 Next showcase.

65 films have just been unveiled for the newly announced category line-ups as we reflect on this year's top Sundance gems like 'Dope', 'Me and Earl and the Dying Girl' and 'Tangerine'. Stay tuned for more announcements in the coming weeks though for the US' biggest indie film festival founded Robert Redford.

US Dramatic Competition: This category sees 'Non-Stop' director Nate Parker take on his second feature-length screenplay with 'The Birth of a Nation'; a story of slavery, freedom and the power of prayer in which Parker also stars alongside Armie Hammer and Gabrielle Union. 'The Free World' is the directorial debut of Jason Lew which stars Boyd Holbrook and Elisabeth Moss and follows the institutionalisation of an ex-convict who happens to be innocent, and yet finds himself drawn to a woman who's a genuine criminal. Meanwhile, Nick Jonas stars in Andrew Neel's 'Goat', following two brothers in the same questionable fraternity, while Daniel Radcliffe appears in creepy drama 'Swiss Army Man' about a man trapped in the wilderness with a corpse. Then we have 'Tallulah' starring Ellen Page, marriage drama 'The Intervention' with 'How I Met Your Mother' actress Cobie Smulders, true story 'Christine', business drama 'Equity' featuring 'Breaking Bad''s Anna Gunn, and Jena Malone embarks on a road-trip in 'Lovesong'.

US Documentary Competition: Among the 2016 documentaries we have 'Author: The JT LeRoy Story' as told by Jeff Feuerzeig, the story of Steve Gleason and his ALS diagnosis with Clay Tweel's 'Gleason' and 'Life, Animated' about the incredible union of an autistic boy and the world of Disney movies as directed by Oscar winner Roger Ross Williams. 'Weiner' follows the mayoral campaign of Anthony Weiner and 'Uncle Howard' sees Howard Brookner's nephew Aaron Brookner explore his never-before-seen films.

World Cinema Dramatic Competition: This year featuring gems from Europe, South America and Asia, the category opens its arms to international dramas such as the award-winning Felix van Groeningen's Belgian nightlife film 'Belgica', Mirjana Karanovic's directorial debut 'A Good Wife', Polish fantasy 'The Lure' about the lives of two mermaids, Chinese love story sequence 'Male Joy, Female Love' and the modern Shakespeare 'Much Ado About Nothing' by Chilean director Alejandro Fernández. Plus, the Oscar nominated Rachel Griffiths will star in the Irish/European thriller 'Mammal', which explores domestic and street violence, and the unlikely relationship between two of life's casualities.

World Cinema Documentary Competition: International issues are explored here with such movies as Iraq documentary 'A Flag Without a Country' by multiple award-winning Bahman Ghobadi; a film which explores societies ravaged by war and ISIS. Then there's Stephen Kijak's 'We Are X' which follows the life of X Japan's Yoshiki many years after their 80s heyday, and 'The Land of the Enlightened' by Belgium director Pieter-Jan De Pue who visits Afghanistan to document child works in lapis lazuli mines.

Next: In this out-of-competition line-up presented by Adobe, innovative stories like JD Dillard's magician drama 'Sleight' starring 'The Maze Runner''s Jacob Latimore come to life. Moises Arias of 'Hannah Montana' stars in teen skateboarding drama 'The Land', while Bernardo Britto's political asylum thriller 'Jacqueline (Argentine)' features Camille Rutherford from the critically acclaimed romance 'Blue Is the Warmest Colour'. Lesbian love story 'First Girl I Loved' is directed by Kerem Sanga, and 'THE 4TH' is a Fourth of July movie directed by and starring Andre Hyland.

Midnight Category (if you needed a reminder): Amongst the spine-tingling horrors of Sundance 2016, Rob Zombie brings us another grisly slasher '31', while Chloë Sevigny and Natasha Lyonne star in Danny Perez's stoner conspiracy 'Antibirth'. Johnny Depp stars alongside his daughter Lily-Rose Depp in Kevin Smith's comedy horror 'Yoga Hosers', while Chad Michael Murray joins the cast of Western thriller 'Outlaws and Angels'.
