A painting by late Pink Floyd legend SYD BARRETT has been stolen from an exhibition in London.
The self-portrait had never been seen in public before it went on display at the city's Idea Generation gallery last month (Mar11).
But just three weeks after the rare work was unveiled, a thief stole it from the Syd Barrett: Art and Letters exhibition on Saturday afternoon (09Apr11).
The painting was completed by Barrett between 1961 and 1962 and was given to his then-girlfriend Libby Gausden.
Responding to news of the theft, Gausden says, "I am very upset at the theft of the painting, it has huge personal value to me and I am appealing for its safe return."
A reward of $3,200 (£2,000) has been offered for information leading to the painting's return.
