The Expendables 3 holds its world premiere in London, as Bradley Cooper and Idris Elba shoot new films in the city. Trailers tease Bill Murray's St. Vincent, Tommy Lee Jones' new Western, Meryl Streep as a wicked witch and Eddie Redmayne as Stephen Hawking...
The world premiere of The Expendables 3 took place this week in London, attended by Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Antonio Banderas, Kellan Lutz and Wesley Snipes. They had a great time entertaining fans and the press all day before the red carpet extravaganza on Leicester Square. The film opens globally next week. The Expendables 3 World Premiere [Pictures].
Bradley Cooper has also been spotted around London this week. He's in town shooting his new movie, a still-untitled project in which he plays a chef trying to set up the best restaurant in the world. In just the past week, photos have been snapped of him filming in Leicester Square, outside the Delauney, on the Southbank and on Waterloo Bridge. Filming has also started in London on A Hundred Streets, a multi-strand drama starring Idris Elba, Gemma Arterton and Adam Bakri (Omar). All three have been photographed on the streets while shooting scenes for the project, in which Elba plays a star rugby player struggling with life in the limelight. Filming of 'A Hundred Streets' in London - United Kingdom - Tuesday 5th August 2014.
Among new trailers this week was a first look at the comedy St. Vincent, starring Bill Murray as a bristly war veteran who becomes a mentor for a young boy who lives next door. The film costars Melissa McCarthy, Naomi Watts, Chris O'Dowd and Terrence Howard. It opens in America in October. Watch 'St. Vincent' Trailer.
Also out in October, Tommy Lee Jones' acclaimed Western drama The Homesman is about two unlikely partners who team up to escort three mad women across the American Midwest. Jones stars opposite Hilary Swank, Meryl Streep, Hailee Steinfeld, Grace Gummer and James Spader. A hit at Cannes, the film looks like an entertaining trek. Watch 'The Homesman' Trailer.
A darkly comical teaser for Into the Woods arrived this week. This is the star-packed fairly tale mash-up based on Stephen Sondheim's award-winning 1980s Broadway musical. It shows glimpses of Meryl Streep (as the wicked witch), Johnny Depp (the big bad wolf), Chris Pine (the handsome prince), Anna Kendrick (Cinderella), and James Cordon and Emily Blunt (the baker and his wife). It's out in December in America and January in Britain. Watch 'Into the Woods' Trailer.
And there's also a trailer this week for The Theory of Everything, a biopic about noted astrophysicist Stephen Hawking that opens in US cinemas in November and in Britain in January. The film looks seriously inspirational as it focusses on the relationship between Hawking (a storming performance from Eddie Redmayne) and his wife (Felicity Jones) as they deal with his motor neurone disease diagnosis. It's directed by Oscar-winner James Marsh (Man on Wire). Watch 'The Theory of Everything' Trailer.
