Three other people were left injured.
A man has been killed after shots were fired ahead of a T.I. concert in New York yesterday night (May 25th 2016), with three other people rushed to hospital with gunshot wounds. As of yet, no suspects have been named or arrested, but the chaos is believed to have ensued following a dispute in the VIP area.
T.I. was at the venue when the shooting took place
During a performance from rappers Maino and Uncle Murda ahead of a scheduled appearance from T.I., a man was fatally shot along with three others injured when gunshots rang out around 10pm inside Irving Plaza in Union Square, New York. It is not known whether the person that died was the 34-year-old man who got hit in the chest or the 33-year-old man who took a shot to the abdomen, but according to a statement from Chief of Manhattan South Detectives William Aubry, one of them was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital and the other remains at Bellevue Hospital Center.

An awful lot has happened in the world - A Second World War super soldier has risen from the dead, a billionaire playboy has revealed himself as a costumed superhero, and the Norse God of thunder himself has come to earth on four occasions. So for Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), a petty criminal entrusted with the secret of his mentor's super-secret substance designed to shrink a person, it should be seen as just another day in the life for a person of planet Earth. Now, with the ability to shrink his down to a minuscule size while increasing his strength, Ant-Man is born.
The marvel movie picks up speed with these new additions
The Ant-Man cast has added three interesting new members in John Slattery, Bobby Cannavale and the rapper, T.I. The movie begun production in San Francisco this week following a tumultuous few months.
John Slattery at the premiere for 'God's Pocket'
The new faces don’t have roles in Marvel’s upcoming superhero comedy franchise builder, but they’re certainly impressive additions. Slattery, in particular, is a coup for the studio – the actor, celebrated for bringing the character of Roger Sterling to life in AMC’s Mad Men, joins the likes of Paul Rudd Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly.
The rapper fighting with the sports star isn't actually that rare an occurrence.
T.I. and Floyd Mayweather had a pretty big bust-up at the weekend: a fight broke out after the boxer allegedly made some untoward comments about improper friendship between the boxer and the rapper's wife, Tameka "TIny" Cottle. Punches and chairs were reportedly thrown in the fight between the two celebs who were filmed brawling in a Vegas Fatburger.
In honour of the sheer scandal the incident has generated, we've rounded up a list of five other examples where rappers have battled with sports stars, indicating an almost cat-and-dog-like relationship between the two professionals.

The two hip-hop stars were attempting to find out who was responsible for attacking their "mutual acquaintances," when an intense confrontation erupted.
T.I and Game found themselves in a face-off with the LAPD on Wednesday night (April 30th) after their friends got beat down to a bloody mess by the security of an LA nightclub.
T.I confronted the LAPD outside the night spot
In a video posted by TMZ, the two hip-hop superstars first confronted more than a dozen law enforcers, who were carrying batons and shotguns, after mistakenly thinking they assaulted their friends outside the Supperclub night venue.
The iTunes festival performance was a mashup of genres, fashion and, surprisingly, personal revelations.
Lady GaGa’s appearance at London’s iTunes fesTIval has been long teased and long awaited, but the Applause singer went beyond any fan expectations, by premiering several new songs from ARTPOP at the festival. The hour-long gig at Roundhouse Theatre saw Gaga experiment with some new musical directions and, of course, in true Gaga fashion, some... well... outrageous fashion.
Then again, Gaga has never been known for her subtlety.
According to Rolling Stone, Gaga opened the gig in a cage, sporting a black leather mask a la Hannibal Lecter, but the most interesting part was the dubstep style drop of her opening track. It seems like everyone is doing something dubstep-esque these days, but this isn’t the only genre Lady Gaga is venturing into with ARTPOP. In a definite style departure for the singer, she came out with the rather direct title Jewels & Drugs.

On the first night of the month-long iTunes Festival, Lady Gaga kicked things off with a bang, debuting seven brand new songs from her upcoming album 'ARTPOP'
Lady GaGa made an emoTIonal and surprise-filled return to the stage as she opened the month-long iTunes Festival at London's Roundhouse Theatre. Having been away from a live audience since she was forced to end her Monster's Ball tour early this year due to health concerns (bar her VMAs performance last month), the singer made sure she gave a performance to remember at the Camden venue.
Gaga has been spotted around London for the past week, ahead of her performance
The theatrical performance, complete with costume changes, dance routines and a host of new songs from her upcoming album ArtPop, seven to be precise. Dressed head to toe in black, Gaga emerged from the centre of the venue to perform her first new song, 'Aura,' before stripping down to her underwear for new song number two, the rockier 'Manicure,' which was accompanied by a storm of ticker tape falling on to the audience.

Rapper amongst 11 arrested after police vs. tour bus stand-off.
2 Chainz: One Of Eleven Tour Bus Arrests.
On Wednesday night (21st Aug), 2 Chainz had performed at Chesapeake Energy Arena with fellow rappers Lil Wayne and T.I. It is not known yet whether the others were with 2 Chainz, AKA Tauheed Epps, when the bus was pulled over just after midnight on Thursday. The officer reportedly suspected that there were illegal drugs on the bus but the driver is said to have locked all the doors and refused police entry with all passengers also refusing to leave the vehicle.

While the Gaye family haven't raised an official claim against the singer, he is looking to prevent any disputes.
Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams have made no qualms about the fact that their summer anthem Blurred Lines was heavily influenced by Marvin Gaye’s Got to Give It Up. So far, neither the Gaye family, nor Bridgeport Music Inc., have raised any official copyright claims based on the song, however Thicke, Williams and collaborator Clifford Harris Jr. (aka T.I.) have filed a preemptive complaint to protect themselves against future disputes.
In a preemptive strike, Thicke is taking the case to court himself.
According to the L.A. Times, the creative team has requested that the L.A. Court Judge verify that the song does not violate any copyright restrictions. The complaint states that representatives of the Gaye estate have threatened to sue Thicke and Williams, based on a perceived similarity between Blurred Lines and the Marvin Gaye songs Got to Give It Up and Sexy Ways. Thcke and co. have asked the court to declare that Blurred Lines does not infringe on copyrights just because of said similarity.
Robin Thicke is planning... well, everything for his next album.
There’s no argument that Robin Thicke has achieved highly unexpected success in 2013 and it seems like the singer doesn’t really know what to do with it. According to an interview with Billboard, Thicke would like to go in many different directions, now that he’s finally achieved the coveted mainstream success.
Thicke has suddenly found himself in the midst of unexpected success.
But despite the hitmakers on the album – Pharell Williams and T.I. are both heavyweights when it comes to chart toppers, not everyone was as convinced as Thicke of his record’s success. When asked whether he Blurred Lines sounded like a hit from the very beginning, the singer responded: “It did to me, and then I went into the record label and I played it for the heads of the label, head of pop radio ... and everybody just went, `Nice. Nice.' Got no response; was kind of surprised by that.”
The preppy rockers gave a pretty hilarious take on the super-successful single from Thicke during a recent radio appearance
Just when we were all starting to get sick of 'Blurred Lines,' Robin Thicke's mega-hit featuring Pharrell Williams and T.I., New York rockers Vampire Weekend were on hand earlier this week to give us all another reason to care about the track once again as they gave their own take on the track. The performance was part of BBC Radio One's Live Lounge sessions and yes, it does feature an (attempted) rendition of T.I.'s rapped part as well.
The group made the track their own
The laughter-inducing version, that is filled with ad-libs and the occasional cry of "dat falsetto!" whenever someone forgets a line, was recorded with glee by the 'Diane Young' rockers at the London radio studio. Hearing Ezra sing “You the hottest bitch in this place!!!” and mumble “pimpin” and “shake your rump!” in his best T.I. impression is as funny as it founds too, as the white boy indie kids break down into hysterics by the end of the track.
Robin Thicke has hit back at claims the lyrics on his 'Blurred Lines' single could be construed as rapey, saying "I can’t even dignify that with a response."
The lyrics of Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines ft. T.I., Pharrell' as well as the accompanying highly sexualised music video have been widely criticised, with claims that the song objectifies women and makes a joke out of rape. The lyrics, which include the lines "OK now he was close, tried to domesticate you/But you're an animal, baby it's in your nature/Just let me liberate you," could be interpreted to mean that it is acceptable for a man to assert his dominance over a woman sexually, whether she likes it or not as Thicke croons "I know you want it."
Robin Thicke Defends Himself Over "Rapey" Lyrics.
Rape charities, such as Rape Crisis, have slammed Thicke with spokesperson Katie Russell voicing concern: "The lyrics of 'Blurred Lines' seem to glamourise violence against women and to reinforce rape myths, which we strive to dispel. Both the lyrics and the video seem to objectify and degrade women, using misogynistic language and imagery that many people would find not only distasteful or offensive but also really quite old fashioned," adding "More disturbingly, certain lyrics are explicitly sexually violent and appear to reinforce victim-blaming rape myths, for example about women giving 'mixed signals' through their dress or behaviour, saying 'no' when they really mean 'yes' and so on."
Icona Pop have hit with their first UK No.1 single, 'I Love It FT Charlie XCX,' whilst 'Another Love' singer Tom Odell has risen to the top of the albums chart.
Swedish electro-pop duo Icona Pop have snatched the UK chart top spot from Robin Thicke and his 'Blurred Lines' (ft. T.I., Pharrell) track that had been at No.1 for four weeks. According to the BBC, 'I Love It,' which features Charlie XCX, has sold 125,000 copies in the seven days prior to last Sunday's (30th June) charts. They knew they were in for a good chance of being the week's bestseller as they were the midweek leaders by Wednesday. The Stockholm girls tweeted their triumph with, "#1 in the UK! WOOOW!! we're so happy!!" as it emerged that not only was their single at No.1, but they were the first Swedish female act to reach the top of the UK singles charts since Robyn's 'With Every Heartbeat' in 2007.
Sweden's Icona Pop: [L] Caroline Hjelt, [R] Aino Jawo.
The hedonistic summer hit has sold more than 100,000 copies a week for 11 weeks, according to The Telegraph, which is a strength in sales not seen since a time period from January to April in 1998 that saw classic singles from Oasis, Aqua, Celine Dion and Run DMC vie for top positions. Icona Pop's rise to the top also coincidences with a chart shake-up from the album side as well; as forecasted last week, singer/pianist Tom Odell's album Long Way Down has peaked at No.1, shaking off rapper Kanye West with his latest album Yeezus that had shot straight to the top on release.

'Blurred Lines' the album will be out July 30, but will the success of the single help album sales at all?
Robin Thicke scored his fourth week on top of the UK Single Chart at the end of last week (June 23) and despite criTIcism for his 'rapey,' derogatory lyrics, the singer is still riding high on the success of his most popular song to date. Speaking with Radio.com, the singer seemed unperturbed by criticism and promised fans that, despite the backlash his single has received, the album will be a 'feel good' hit.
The album, also called Blurred Lines, is the follow-up to Thicke's poorly-received and poor selling Love After War, and also features the singer breaking away form his usual style of being the sole focus on his releases, with little outside help appearing on any of his past works. As his success began to dwindle, Thicke decided that it was time to bring in some outside help and turn his usual bedroom R&B style into much more accessible pop. A move that has clearly proved to be a success.
"I realized, this time, I'm not going to do it all on my own. I'm going to hire some of the great hit-makers in the business and try to make some music everybody can enjoy instead of just my small fan base," the singer said in his interview, before going on to address the subject of his song, in which he seemingly furthers the idiom that women don't know what they want, so men best give it too 'em.
The fall-out from last weekend's spat at the Bet Hip-Hop Awards won't be shown on the television recording airing this forthcoming weekend. But, according to rapper T.I, the damage to its reputation has already been done, after news broke out that a multi-person fight occurred during a tribute to the late hip-hop mogul Chris Lighty at the event.
"I didn't even know about the fight," T.I. said in an interview with KTLA. "Men everywhere, we have huge egos and lots of pride. I don't know that particular incident personally, but most fights that I hear about, it's about pride and ego." Two separate fights broke out; one between Rick Ross and Young Jeezy's camps, and another between MMG's Gunplay and member of G-Unit's entourage.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Complex, BET's president of music programming Stephen G. Hill played down some of the more outlandish rumors surrounding the event."Reckless tweeting - one person said there was gunshots. Somebody took that," Hill said. "I used to do this thing when I was a little kid. I used to say something outrageous. I'd say, 'I read that somewhere.' I wrote it down, closed my eyes, and then I read it, and so it's true. That's exactly what happens with Twitter. People read it, so they think it's true, and people retweet it like, 'Oh my God, there were gunshots.' 'Cause some fool tweeted, 'I heard gunshots.' There were no gunshots."
Sandy Bigelow Patterson is a successful businessman who lives in Denver, Colorado but his world is turned upside down when his credit card gets rejected at the gas station. He discovers that several expensive transactions have been made on his card including a water sports excursion in Florida - where he has never happened to venture. After making several enquiries and informing the police, he is told that his identity has been stolen. His initial shock and distress is quelled slightly on seeing a mugshot of the thief: an eccentrically dressed, overweight, middle-aged woman who Sandy thinks he can take on himself and force her to relinquish his identity after she has spent thousands of dollars on shopping, luxury items and partying. However, she proves too much for Sandy to handle when he tracks her down in Florida, aggressively refusing to give up her hold on his life.
