James Corden has admitted that meeting Take That at the Brit Awards was the "greatest moment" of his life.

The Gavin and Stacey actor hosted the February ceremony with co-star Mathew Horne and has revealed his delight at meeting the Greatest Day stars.

"I absolutely love them! It was the greatest moment of my life when we did the Brits and getting to meet Howard [Donald] and Jason [Orange] and them saying how much they love the show - I couldn't breathe!" he explained at the press conference for his new film Lesbian Vampire Killers.

"When there was this story last year that Robbie might rejoin, I was really worried - because to this day, in the back of my head, I still think they're going to need me," he joked.

"At some point. Howard'll hurt his leg or Gary [Barlow]'ll lose his voice and they'll say 'we can't cancel - get Corden!'"

Asked whether he was a horror film fan as a youngster, the 30-year-old said he spent more time learning the dance routines of the beloved boyband.

"I used to know the opening 35 minutes of the Take That live in Berlin tape - the whole routine!" he said.

"I'd either be Gary or Robbie [Williams] but when I was Robbie, I wouldn't do lead vocal, I'd only do his bit."

Lesbian Vampire Killers is released on March 20th.
