Taron Egerton has held early talks about starring in 'Robin Hood: Origins'.

The 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' star is the man Lionsgate want to take the leading role in the movie about the popular folk figure from the late-medieval period.

Taron, 25, has rapidly emerged as one of the most sought-after young actors in Hollywood and is seen as the ideal man to assume the iconic role, Deadline reports.

His next role will see him star opposite fellow Brit Tom Hardy in the gangster film 'Legend', while he will also soon reunite with 'Kingsman' director Matthew Vaughn - who's assumed producing responsibilities - for the 'Eddie The Eagle' movie.

Despite his emergence as a fully-fledged star, Taron recently insisted his lifestyle has barely changed.

He said: ''I'm going to my sister's school sports day. There are some parts of my life that are wonderful and it's amazing to get to go to cool events and award shows and things like that, but I think the outside perception is that your life just changes overnight and you wear Dolce and Gabanna suits and drive a Mercedes.

''But life's just not like that. I've made these films and I'm really proud but my lifestyle hasn't changed.''
