The 25-year-old singer will not be taking to the stage at next Sunday's award ceremony because she has to "focus only" on planning her '1989' world tour.
Fans of Taylor Swift were left disappointed after hearing the news that she will not be making a surprise performance at 57th Annual Grammy Awards next Sunday night (Feb 8th), but she does have a very good reason as to why she will be not be taking to the stage.
Swift will not be performing at this year's Grammy Awards
"Since my whole life is wrapped up and entangled in the planning of the 1989 World Tour right now, I'm not going to be performing on the Grammys this year," the 25-year-old singer shared on Tumblr Monday afternoon (Feb 2nd). "I need this time to focus only on the tour."
In November 2014, Swift announced plans for a huge world tour, in support of her No.1 album '1989,' which kicks off in Louisiana on May 20th, and is heading across the rest of North America as well as Europe before travelling down under to Australia in December 2015.
Only a few days ago, Swift also confirmed that the Haim sisters will be her opening act for several shows on the North American leg of her tour. "The girls and I got to talking and I'm overjoyed to announce that @haimtheband will be joining The 1989 World Tour!!" she tweeted. "TOURING W/ SQUAD YESSSS."
Despite not performing at Sunday's award ceremony, held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Swift will be in attendance as she is up for three Grammy Awards. But fans can still expect to see the 'Blank Space' singer awkwardly dancing in her seat.
"I'm really excited to be nominated for 3 Grammys this year and even more excited that I'll be there having a dance party/rage fest in the audience," she also wrote online, before concluding, "I hope I'll see you out there at one of the stadiums this summer having a rage fest of your own!"
