Taylor Swift has becomes the highest-earning celebrity in the world having scooped an income of $170 million in the past year. An impressive feat at just 26-years-old, though the news is probably not enough to take attention away from her blossoming relationship with Tom Hiddleston.

Nonetheless, Swift has made it all the way to number one on Forbes' 2016 Celebrity 100 list following her colossal 1989 World Tour which took in revenue of about $250 million, beating the Rolling Stones' North American record. On the other hand, she hasn't made quite as much as last year's top-earning celebrity; boxing champion Floyd 'The Money' Mayweather scooped $300 million in 2015 following his Manny Pacquiao fight. All that matters though is that she's nearly tripled her $80 million from last year.

So how else has the pop beauty been making millions? Aside from sales of her fourth album '1989' released in 2014 and her subsequent seven singles, she's had several product endorsements such as Diet Coke, Keds, Apple, Target and Subway, and she's also got her own perfume line the fourth fragrance of which was 'Incredible Things'. All the publicity surrounding her beef with Kanye West and, of course, her all new relationship with Tom Hiddleston only helps accelerate her earnings.

At number two on Forbes' 2016 Celebrity 100 list is boyband One Direction with $110 million, and Adele is the only other musician in the top 10 with $80.5 million. Completing the top 10 are crime author James Patterson, talk show host Dr. Phil, professional soccer players Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, comedian Kevin Hart, radio personality Howard Stern and political commentator Rush Limbaugh.

Taylor Swift could be doubling her earnings soon too, as it's almost time for another album release. She usually releases a record every two years around October - and yes, it's already been two years since the Diamond-certified '1989'.
