Taylor Swift capped off a quite incredible eight months with a celebratory performance of her songs 'cardigan', 'august' and 'willow' at the 63rd Grammy Awards. In front of a limited, but star studded, audience in downtown LA the prolific singer-songwriter gave an enchanting performance of three songs from her recent past.
Taking two songs from her award winning 'folklore' album, and the opening track from her last album, 'evermore', Swift delighted her viewing audience with a typically radiant delivery. Swift was a deserved winner at the 63rd Grammy's taking away the award for Best Album with 'folklore'. 'folklore' took her tally of Grammy awards to 11 from 41 nominations and also means that she made Grammy history when she became the first female artist ever to win the Best Album award three times. (Taylor's previous two wins for Best Album were for 'Fearless' in 2010 and '1989' in 2016) In taking the prize Swift also equalled the accomplishments of three time winners Paul Simon, Frank Sinatra and Stevie Wonder.
On the night Taylor Swift beat some other great albums to scoop the prize including fore-runner 'Future Nostalgia' by Dua Lipa as well as 'Everyday Life' by Coldplay and another album that she also eventually featured on, 'Women In Music Pt III' by HAIM.
Taylor Swift was also nominated for five other awards on the evening including Song Of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for the opening track of her three song medley, 'cardigan'. She started her performance of this signature song reclined on the grassy roof of her woodland retreat. Among the tall trees of her log cabin set, Taylor sang beautifully, transitioning seamlessly between each song to give a memorable Grammy's performance.
