Taylor Swift has fans questioning why on Earth this track was omitted from the original album as she unveils previously unreleased track 'Mr. Perfectly Fine' from her album re-release 'Fearless (Taylor's Version)'.
It's - rather predictably for 'Fearless' era Taylor - a heartbreak anthem, but nonetheless has all the catchy euphoria of some of the bangers that made it to the final cut for the 2008 release (such as 'Love Story' and 'You Belong With Me').
"'Fearless' was an album full of magic and curiosity, the bliss and devastation of youth", Taylor said of the album in a statement. "It was the diary of the adventures and explorations [of] a teenage girl who was learning tiny lessons with every new crack in the facade of the fairytale ending she'd been shown in the movies."
The album re-release has re-recorded vocals and production of all songs from the platinum edition of 'Fearless', as well as six newly released 'From the Vault' songs that didn't appear on the original album. Featuring production from Jack Antonoff and The National's Aaron Dessner, they include 'You All Over Me' featuring Maren Morris, 'We Were Happy', 'That's When' featuring Keith Urban, 'Don't You' and 'Bye Bye Baby'.
As well as being a nostalgic re-visiting of one of the best 2000s albums, 'Fearless (Taylor's Version)' is also a celebration of freedom and Taylor's fierce opposition to Scooter Braun's acquisition of her masters after she publicly spoke out about the sale in 2019.
