Terrence Howard says during the press tour for his new movie that his appearance in the first Iron Man cost him his career.
With the third instalment of the Iron Man franchise fast approaching you could be forgiven for forgetting that Oscar nominee Terrence Howard was actually one of the stars of the first instalment of the comic adaption. One person who hasn't forgotten about his involvement though is Howard himself and the reason why is not nostalgia or because he holds particularly fond memories of his time portraying James Rhodes/WarMachine, the reason he recalls his only liaison with Marvel is because he blames the Disney-owned studio for ruining his career.

Howard is currently promoting his new film, Dead Man Down, and during a recent interview with Hollywood.com said, 'Worst thing I witnessed was Iron Man killing my career,' when quizzed about the worst thing he ever saw. But Howard didn't stop talking about the film there, as he went on to tell Spanish-language site Desde Hollywood about his restraint in that he did not seek legal recourse after being given the boot by the studio. He said, "I chose not to fight back, not to deal with the allegations, but to continue forward and do what I had to do. I had to start all over: went from making $6 million a movie, back to $60 thousand a movie. But as long as you don't give up you are able ... I'll make $20 million soon."
The criticism comes as some surprise given that the 2010 split seemed to be an amicable one at the time, allegedly arising from director Jon Favreau's dissatisfaction with Howard's performance, but apparently Howard can hold grudges for some time.
