Everyone seems to have something to say on the death of Gia Allemand. Her mother has issued a statement warning against false sources, whilst the bachelor's representatives have claimed that support is in place for contestants.

Allemand was found unconscious on Monday (12th August) by her boyfriend NBA player Ryan Anderson. She was rushed to hospital and placed on support in ICU. It has later transpired she had hung herself. Sadly, she was taken off life support on Wednesday 14th August after "critical loss of brain and organ function."

Her mother, Donna Micheletti, released a statement to People on Friday 16th which chastised speculation fuelled by social network sites and false sources. Micheletti stated that "the family and close friends of Gia Allemand have not spoken to the media to date, nor have they posted comments or insight on Twitter." She warned media outlets not to trust a number of sources who claim to be close friends with Allemand. Micheletti mentioned one name in particular and stated her daughter had not trusted this individual.

She continued by promising that, after the funeral, she would put the record straight on the life and death of her daughter. In another statement, the funeral date was confirmed. It will be held in New York at Trinity Grace Church in Chelsea at 11am.

Meanwhile, The Bachelor producers and management have been discussing their support network. The host of the reality show, Chris Harrison, as reported by the New York Daily News said "we go to great lengths to ensure these people are OK."

That's all fine, but Allemand had not been a contestant on The Bachelor since 2010. In the past three years, did Allemand have the same support? In addition, many people choose not to disclose whether they suffer from a mental illness, even to their loved ones, for fear of the social stigma attached.

Contactmusic sends their condolences to Gia Allemand's family, friends and colleagues at this time.
