Former bandmember Julia Adamson, also known as Julia Nagle, and producer Steven Sharples, took Smith's publishing company Minder Music Ltd to court to contest ownership of Touch Sensitive, a track from the U.K. group's 1999 album The Marshall Suite.

Adamson claimed the song was a development of a track she previously wrote with Smith and performed on U.K. radio in 1998, while Sharples was adamant he added music and lyrics to the album version and also deserved a share of the proceeds.

A judge at London's High Court listened to three versions of the song - the radio broadcast, a live performance and the album recording - and ruled Adamson and Sharples should share the royalties with Smith's publisher.

They will all be given a third of the proceeds each.
