It's been a long time coming but Las Vegas band The Killers are finally set to return with a new album after five years entitled 'Wonderful Wonderful'. It's due to be released later this year through Island records following a string of festival performances this summer.
The new single is this rousing, funk-laden rock number that's just as infectious as the likes of their back catalogue, but with an appropriately updated style. 'The Man' premiered on June 14th 2017 on BBC Radio 1 and was named as the Hottest Record In The World by Annie Mac. It samples both Kool and The Gang's 1975 song 'Spirit of the Boogie' and David Bowie's single 'Fame' - also from 1975. It's all about reflecting back on frontman Brandon Flowers' youth and the video is set in a Western style casino filled with glamour and cowboy hats; this is Vegas after all!
The forthcoming fifth album has been produced with Jacknife Lee and Stuart Price in both Las Vegas and Los Angeles and follows the 2012 album 'Battle Born' which topped UK charts and reached number 3 in the US. Their last single, meanwhile, was 2016's 'Peace of Mind' which was released as part of the 10th anniversary re-release of their second studio album 'Sam's Town'.
The Killers are performing at several festivals this year including Exit festival in Serbia, Lollapalooza in Chicago, Austin City Limits in Texas, Lost Lake Festival in Phoenix as well as British Summertime Hyde Park with Green Day, Justin Biber and Kings of Leon.
'Wonderful Wonderful' will be released on November 24th 2017.
