The magic numbers

All I can say is yee - ha!!! This multi - cultural band ( New York, London and Trinidad) have been hailed as the new Kings of Leon – not to me!! They sound more likely to chew tobacco and spit it out! I don’t know why, but there music sounds very country and western mixed with indie! I probably thought this because the first song that I listened to was “The Mule”.

The quartet has provided listeners with this debut album full of 80s sounds mixed with easy going rock and roll. The band consists of two sets of brothers and sisters - bet you didn’t know that!?

If I had to pick a song I would have to say, “Love me like you”. It’s catchy and bright and happy!

I also really like “Forever Lost” - this song is just perfect to sing along to and is yet again happy. This song has a more indie sound and the vocals are sort of mellow and chirpy! If that makes sense!? The video for this is funny too - it sees them as cartoon characters rescuing their band equipment.

This band is very hippy, and all of their songs are care free and fun! I can imagine that whoever buys the album is going to be listening to it all summer because it has the sun shining out of every song!

The vocals are harmonic and sweet and almost like a rainbow – different colours for songs to suit each mood!

All songs are full of tambourines and guitars with gentle drum strokes. Perfect for the easy listener!

The band will perform on the Main Stage of the K Festival on July 23, which takes place at St Minver, Cornwall.

The magic numbers are embarking on a UK tour very soon, so check that out at some of these venues. Tuesday 4th October - Leeds Met Uni, Wednesday 5th October - Glasgow, Friday 7th October - Sheffield University, Saturday 8th October - Wolverhampton, Wulfran and Sunday 9th October - Cardiff University.
