The film has received relatively positive reviews, with critics complimenting the filmmakers, James Bobin and Nicholas Stoller, for their decision to follow on from 2011's version as well as including key elements that made audiences fall in love with The Muppets.

Eric Henderson of Slant Magazine thinks, "Freed from the burden of starting anew, the film restores the Muppets' rightful place as stars of their own show."

Stephanie Zacarek of Village Voice also gave praise as she writes, "The story matters only in that it creates opportunities for heaps of ridiculousness, and writer-director James Bobin (who also directed The Muppets), along with co-writer Nicholas Stoller, mines them skillfully and breezily."

James Rocchi from Cinephiled adds, "Most Wanted" continues the new-school adventures of the Muppets with good humor, good intentions and strong filmmaking, and hopefully won't be the last time we see this iteration of these characters on the big-screen."

The great cast of comedy co-stars and celebrity cameos is sure to be a cinemagoers favourite once 'Muppets: Most Wanted' is released on March 21st.
